Abstract

This work constitutes the work of completing the social work course at the Faculty ASCES. It aims to reflect on the profession's image and self-image Social Work in multidisciplinary teams. It is a qualitative research that uses as data collection instrument of the semi-structured interview. Its empirical field, a public hospital in Caruaru - PE. So it's a study based on the production of knowledge related to the subject and the data of a given reality and attempts to answer the following question: how the professionals who make up the multidisciplinary team at a public hospital comprises the duties of Social Work? What is the importance attributed to the practice of the / a social worker? What is the team's image and self-image of social work? Is mainly aimed to understand the image and self-image of social work in multidisciplinary teams, the study revealed that the professional image of social work in the research multidisciplinary team is a process that is being built and confirms what the theory shows when notes that the image It is socially constructed, while the self-image is made up of the professional design and the reality that the / the social workers act. Therefore, the social image of the profession is a process tensioned construction for traces of several professional projects as well as job profiles in dispute.
